Buying a car is often a painful, drawn-out process—one that CarBlip’s Founder knew all too well. The frustration of visiting multiple dealerships, haggling over prices, and navigating a lack of transparency inspired a bold vision: to let anyone buy a brand-new car from their phone and have it delivered to their home. Completely painless.
When the Founder approached Naked Development, he had no prior relationships with dealerships or car brands—just a big idea. Despite these challenges, we saw the potential. The problem he wanted to solve was massive: simplifying an industry notorious for its inefficiencies. More importantly, the Founder had conviction and was open to strategic guidance.
Why We Believed in the Idea
At Naked, we evaluate projects based on the clarity of the problem, market need, and the Founder’s ability to execute. CarBlip checked all the boxes. Buying a car is a universal pain point, and the market for new cars in the U.S. is massive (~15M vehicles sold annually). Together, we pitched dealerships on CarBlip’s value as a lead generator, guaranteeing favorable referral rates to secure early partnerships. Starting with just one dealership, we gained traction, creating a data-driven case to scale to more partners.
- Automating Fair Pricing: We integrated a negotiation layer using Kelley Blue Book (KBB) values to ensure users always got a fair deal. This blend of technology and human touch transformed the app into a concierge-like service.

- Seed Funding Success: Within six months of working with Naked, CarBlip raised $2M in seed funding from Nordic Eye Venture Capital at a $25M valuation.
